"I'm glad you had some laughter before we met again." It was the gentlest way he could think of describing it. He truly was grateful that she'd had some happiness in her life after he'd died. He just wished that there had been more moments like that for her and the kittens. "I'll remember not to let you get drunk again."

Sighing softly at the idea of Mal wanting to follow in his footsteps, he couldn't help regretting how he'd treated his son before he'd understood his other life. "I never meant to hurt him when I didn't remember my past." Alec was sure Mal would forgive him but he still felt guilty for it. "Even if he'd learned magic, he still would have been my legacy. Magic wouldn't make him less a part of me."

Eventually, Alec would explain that to Mal since Max seemed determined that his new hero learn magic. Either convince him or hint that he shouldn't disappoint Max by not learning more about being a warlock. "Then we'll all have our own type of magic, even if our kittens are more nephilim than warlock."

Kissing her again, he lightly nuzzled her ear. "Why would I mind having my wife close? I love you, Magnus. I want to be near you as much as possible. I want a long, exciting life with you."

Forever maybe... if that was possible. "Especially if you're willing to protect me from umbrellas and we can have time alone together."
