She'd sneered at most of her kind for letting it happen. A familiar had to pick a master. In the end, it could not be forcefully bound. Magna picked Alec... probably the first time she looked at the poor forlorn sorceress trying to fight her birthright. Most familiars picked based on magic compatibility and how much power they could acquire...

Magna picked for the wrong reason. She picked for something far deeper and closer to her heart. Something that remained forbidden in spoken word even if it was not written into law. But even if it were, she'd make the same choice.

Draping over the back of the lounge, she slipped her feet up onto it before sprawling in awkward angles like a cat. Magna liked to sleep, but her eyes stayed attentively on the door. Which gave her quite a show as her lovely blue eyed sorcerer flailed so impressively. "No one sees me unless I want to be seen."
