It shouldn't be impossible to be so happy. Each moment with Magnus perfect and amazing, something dreamed of but forbidden until she had said she wanted him. It felt like light was somehow caught in chest, turning to heat that ran along his skin whenever they touched, burning away the shadows that had been almost a constant in his life.

Panting softly when she moved away, he made a surprised sound as Magnus pulled off his shirt, flushing slightly even as he sat up to help her. She'd seen him shirtless before, helping him with the injuries he'd picked up during patrols, but this was different. This was what he'd struggled not to think of each time she had worried over him.
