"If I'd done something sooner..." Not just healing or taking our guards... the only one she'd not 'taken out' had been Sebastian himself. He terrified her sometimes. And it made her a coward at first. Until he went too far. "It's okay... we just... need to get moving." Before guards puzzled over missing team members and went looking for their knocked out leader.
A soft shiver ran through her at the brush of his thumb and something fluttered inside. He made her feel warm and content. Cherished, oddly enough. A small smile worked its way onto her lips. "I know you will."
She managed to wrap her arms about his neck and nestle her head under his chin. Keeping her breathing steady, she fought off the exhaustion so he wouldn't be on his own. Not that she mustered up enough energy to talk. It felt a lot like drifting on a breeze in and out of focus.
When he finally stopped, she forced her eyes open and looked about. She could make out the cottage, but not well with the tired blur. "Yeah. I can."
She squeezed his shoulder softly. "Put me down. I won't be going anywhere." Even crawling seemed like a terrible idea.
